その中でも大切なIntroductionについて。
IntroductionにはHookとTopic sentenceが必要
Topic sentenceはエッセイの主題を明らかにした文章。
Hookは読者の注目を引きつけるような文章。
My friend want a dog, but I need a herbivore.
友達は犬のペットが欲しいけど、僕は草食動物が必要。
（ん？なんでやねん？）
こんなHookをご紹介。
今日はHookを書くテクニックについてもっと学びましょう。
今は短いエッセイのIntroductionの説明ですが、エッセイが長くなると実はこんなことも必要になります。
Long essay Introduction
・Hook
・Bacground
・３ reasons
・Topic sentence
こんな長いエッセイのHookには、読者の興味を惹く面白い文を書きましょう。
例：Unlike us, sheep have rectangular rectangular pupils.
（私たち人間と違って、羊は長方形の瞳を持っています。）
そしてBackgroundでは
例：They can see 300°around them without turning their heads.
(頭を回さなくても、周りは300°の範囲で見えます。）
エッセイプランで立てた3つの理由からひとつかふたつ選んでHookにします。
Reasons: Sheep can cut your grass, are soft and woolly, and have nutritious milk.
選んだものを１つか２つの文章にまとめて
Topic sentenceの I want a sheep.を最後に持ってきます。
出来上がったIntroductionは次の通り
Unlike us, sheep have rectangular rectangular pupils. They can see 300°around them without turning their heads. Sheep can cut your grass, are soft and woolly, and have nutritious milk. I want a sheep.
さぁ、最後の作業。これらの文章にスムーズな流れをもたせるためには、つなぎ言葉（Transition words）を入れてやります。
Unlike us, sheep have rectangular rectangular pupils. (With these), they can see 300°around them without turning their heads. Sheep can (also) cut your grass, are soft and woolly, and have nutritious milk. I want a sheep.
長いエッセイのための最高のIntroductionが出来ました。
Write essays and learn critical thinking.
